Marshall J. Slauson, 91, Roxbury, passed away May 29, 2004, at the Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville.
Marshall was born March 14, 1913, Roxbury, the son of Orley Slauson and Effie Morse.
He married Inez Ballard on Oct. 4, 1934, Roxbury. She died Jan. 8, 1998.
Marshall graduated from Roxbury Central School. He was head custodian at Roxbury Central School, retiring in 1972, after 40 years of service. Marshall was also Roxbury town clerk for 28 years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Roxbury. He was a former member of the Roxbury Rotary Club, the Roxbury Masonic Lodge and the Roxbury Fire Department.
Marshall and his wife always enjoyed camping.
He is survived by one son, Gary Slauson; four brothers, Grant, Marion, Milton and Virgil Slauson; two sisters, Bertha Cammer and Elsie Furman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Floyd Slauson; and one sister, Hulda Morse.
Funeral service will be held June 3, 2004, at the United Methodist Church, Roxbury, with the Rev. Richard Dykstra officiating. Burial will be in Roxbury Cemetery, Roxbury.

ROXBURY, NY Inez B. Slauson, 85, of Roxbury, died Jan. 8, 1998 in Margaretville Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 13, 1912 in Vega, the daughter of Smith Ballard and Edith Ploutz.

She married Marshall J. Slauson on Oct. 4, 1934 in Roxbury.

She was the deputy town clerk for 28 years for the town of Roxbury. She lived her entire life in Roxbury.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Roxbury, the Roxbury Senior Citizens Club and was a former member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge. She graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1932.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall J. Slauson of Roxbury; one son, Gary Slauson of Guilderland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998 at the United Methodist Church of Roxbury with the Rev. Arlene Penney officiating.

Burial will be at the Roxbury Cemetery, Roxbury.

Calling hours will be from 7-9 p.m. on Jan. 10, 1998 at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.

Contributions in memory of Inez B. Slauson may be made to the Ambulance Fund of the Roxbury Fire Department.
