    Patrick E. Rogers, 71, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington.
    Pat was born on September 7, 1937 in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Aubrey & Maude Warfield Rogers. He was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1955.
    While finishing high school Pat worked at Northern State Hospital as a ward and nurses assistant for a time.
    On May 25, 1956 he was united in marriage to Nancy Fortin in Sedro-Woolley and they made their home in Portland, Oregon and Pat worked for the Nabisco Company as an ingredients mixer for the crackers. In 1959 they returned to the Skagit Valley, making their home in Bow and Pat worked in the local shake mills for a while; he then worked for JW Feed in Burlington blending grains for animal feed, for Lone Star Cement in Concrete and then in 1970 began a 20 year career with the Skagit Corporation in Sedro-Woolley, working as a parts expeditor, making sure all the right parts showed up at the correct location at the right time for assembly.
    Pat was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and camping and growing vegetables in his garden. He also enjoyed smoking fish and meats and making sausage to share with family and friends. He was also quite the musician, playing his harmonica and singing country songs.
    He was a member of the Machinist & Aerospace Workers Union, the Sedro-Woolley Eagles and the Wildcat Steelhead Club.
    Pat is survived by his wife, Nancy at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His six children and their spouses, Catherine & Chris O'Bryan of Camano Island, Mary Lynn & Steve Ringhouse of Day Creek, Brian & Teri Rogers of Sedro-Woolley, Rebecca & Pat Kyle of Bow, and Jacqueline & Bill Ensley and Patricia & Bill Swartz of Sedro-Woolley. A son-in-law, Gene Secor of Bow. Two brothers, Michael Rogers and his wife Andrea of Sedro-Woolley and Les Fitzgerald and his wife Mary of Burlington. Two sisters, Doreen Gentry and Jean Freddolino and her husband Ernie all of Sedro-Woolley. A brother-in-law, Morris Nicholson of California and a sister-in-law, Glenyce Jackson of Vancouver, WA. Twenty grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda ?Bird' Secor; a sister, Dorothy Nicholson and his step-father, Clarence Fitzgerald, his father & mother-in-law, Emery & Hazelle Fortin and a brother-in-law, Richard Fortin.
    Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Wildcat Steelhead Club.
    A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley with Father Martin Bourke, Celebrant.
    Visitation will be available at Lemley Chapel on Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and at the church from 10 to 11 AM. Cremation will follow the services. Private inurnment will be at the Bow Cemetery.
