Devon, Mayor of Exeter, by Margaret, daughter of George Southcote, Esq., of Calverleigh, co. Devon. He was matriculated aged sixteen at Exeter College, Oxford, on 22 Feb 1604/5. He was created a Baronet by King Charles I on 2 Sep 1641.
