    Grace F. DeCare, 58, of Co. Rte. 51, Mexico, died Thursday, June 1 at Oswego Hospital. Born in New Haven, she was a life resident of the area. She was a payroll clerk for Nestles in Fulton for over 30 years.

    Mrs. DeCare was a member and trustee of the First Congregational Church (U.C.C.), New Haven. She was a member of the church choir and the women's fellowship unit.

    She was a member and past matron of the Victoria Chapter No. 205, Order of the Eastern Star, Mexico. She was a member of the New Haven Senior Citizens.

    Her husband, Raymond, died March 28, 1992.

    Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey L. DeCare and Michael W.. DeCare, both of New Haven; one daughter, Pamela Ouderkirk of Mexico; her mother, Ada Glenister of New Haven; two sisters, Ann Schipper of New Haven and Jean Sheldon of New Haven; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7, at the Harter Funeral Home, Mexico, the Rev. Thomas Haygood officiating.

    Burial was in New Haven Cemetery.

    Contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church (U.C.C.), New Haven, or the Victoria Chapter No. 205, OES, Mexico.

    Raymond L. Glenister, 74, of Mexico RD 2 died Wednesday, June 25, 1986 at Oswego Hospital.

    Born in Oswego, Mr. Glenister lived in New Haven 50 years. He was a carpenter.

    Mr. Glenister was a Navy veteran of World War II.

    He was a member of New Haven First Congregational Church and a former member of Carpenters' Local 747.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Ada Cunningham; three daughters, Grace DeCare, Jean Sheldon and Ann Schipper, all of New Haven; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Gerald and Francis, both of Oswego, Kenneth of New Haven and Ralph of Pulaski; a sister, Althea DeLong of Oswego; 10 grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home, Mexico, the Rev. James Vredenburg officiating. Burial was in New Haven Cemetery.

    Celling hours were 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 5305 Washington Ave.

    Contributions may be made to New Haven First Congregational Church or the New Haven Volunteer Fire Department.

    Ada Ann Cunningham Glenister, 99, lived most of her life in the house where she was born June 25, 1911 at 52 Co. Rte 51, New Haven, New York. Ada passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at St. Luke Health Center, 299 River Road, Oswego, N.Y. Her parents were Donald and Grace (Darrens) Cunningham and stepfather, Clinton Horton. Ada attended school through 8th grade in New Haven and graduated from Mexico High School. She completed 1 year at Pulaski Teacher Training. She worked at Greff's Bakery in Mexico, NY and taught 1931 to 1933 at Upson Corners School. Ada later worked at Birdseye Canning Factory in Fulton, NY, Russell McPhail Candy Works in Oswego, NY, Columbia Mills in Minetto, NY and retired from General Electric, Syracuse, NY in 1967. Ada was baptized and joined the Mexico Baptist Church in 1929. She transferred to the First Congregational Church in New Haven in 1953. As an active member she served in several office rolls especially teaching Sunday school and writing notes of cheer from the Women's Fellowship. Ada enjoyed her membership with the New Haven Senior Citizens and attending mealtime and activities at the Mexico Presbyterian Church. Ada was honored as the oldest lifetime resident of New Haven. Ada shared her gift to write poetry to honor others in her church, family and community. Her home always welcomed everyone. Ada's faith inspired, her heart and hands provided love to all. Ada was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Raymond Rudlow Glenister, her brother, Asa Cunningham, two daughters, Helen Joan and Grace DeLane, grandson, Nicky Sheldon, great-granddaughter, Maggie Sheldon and sons-in-law, Raymond DeCare and Alan Sheldon. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Sheldon and Ann (Gary) Schipper, nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Laura) DeCare, Michael (Vicky) DeCare, Pamela (Jeff) Ouderkirk, Lisa Sheldon, Kimberly (Roger) Hubbard, Tammy Smith, Todd Schipper, Terry (Cecil) Loveall, Linda Schroeder, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Harter-Funeral Home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico, NY. The Rev. Sandra Stevens will officiate. Burial in the New Haven Cemetery.
