Obituary: Wausau Record-Herald Sat., Sept 4, 1943:

"Fred Theisen, 89, 716 Elm Street, died this morning at 2:05 o'clock at a local hospital following an illness of two weeks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Ritter & Deutsch funeral home and at 9 o'clock at St. James Catholic Church. the Rt. Rev. Msgr. T.E. O'Shaughnessy will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.

the deceased was born June 20, 1854, in Slinger and was married January 10, 1884 in Waupun to Margaret Benton. the family located here 35 years ago. The deceased was a retired harnessmaker. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Frank Theisen, 105 Jackson Street and William Theisen, 1808 Fairmont Street; two daughters; Mrs. Frank Barden 1316 Torney Avenue, and Miss Olive theisen, at home; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren."

Another clipping lists his pallbearers as George Baumgardt, Walter Shroeder, E.J. Mettelka, Russell Theisen, A.K. Michaelson, and Eigene Barden.

Ferdinard married Margaret Edith BENTON on 10 Jan 1884 in St. Joseph's, Waupun, Dodge Co., Wisconsin. Margaret (daughter of John BENTON and Margaret ROWLES) was born on 02 Apr 1862 in Waupun, Dodge County, Wisconsin; died on 17 May 1947 in Wausau, Marathon County, Wisconsin. General notes from "Descendants of George Rowles": She lived with her husband in Wausau, WI after their honeymoon in Chicago. She loved to play Irish music, and liked her brandy. She kept a bottle under the bed, but it was no secret. Barden Funeral Home, Wausau, WI printed the memorial cards.

Obituary: "Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Theisen, 85, 716 Elm Street, a resident of Wausau for 42 years who died at home this morning at 6 o'clock, will be held at home Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock and at 9 o'clock at St. James Catholic Church. the R. Rev. Msgr. T.E. O'Shaughnessy will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The body is at the Barden Funeral Home and will be taken to the family residence this evening.

Mrs. Theisen was born in Waupun April 2, 1862, and married Frederick Theisen in that city January 10, 1884. He died in September 4, 1743. She was a charter member of the St. James ladies' guild.

Survivors are two sons, Frank E. Theisen, 102 1/2 Jackson St., and William J. Theisen, 716 Elm St.,: two daughters Mrs. Frank A. Barden, 1316 Torney Avenue, and Miss Olive Theisen, 716 Elm Street; two half-brothers, Luke Glendenning, St. Paul and George Glendenning, Seattle WA: 12 grandchldren and 8 great-grandchildren."
