    Son of Nathan and Anna Hunt Hyatt. Entered the army in 1776 and served in the 4th NY Regiment as a Second Lt in Captain Jonathan's Company. Commission signed by John Hancock. In 1779 promoted to 1st Lt and this commission was signed by John Jay. He was awarded Military Tract Lands in western NY State for his service which he left to several of his children. Was a farmer and spent the remainder of his life after his military service on his farm in New Castle. Original member of the NY State Society of the Cincinnati. Married Sarah Ryder of Chappaqua and they were the parents of eight children. Info from Ossining Historical Society re Dale Cemetery.
