    Helen Slawson, age 80, of Sykes Street, Sykesville, PA died Nov. 16 at her residence.

    Born June 27, 1928 in Sykesville she was a daughter of the late Martin and Helen (Godonich) Miletski.

    She was a 1946 graduate of Sykesville High School.

    On June 21, 1947 in Sykesville she married Willard L. Slawson who preceded her in death on June 20, 2006.

    Helen worked at Ideal Products in Sykesville for many years.

    She was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America and the Sykesville American Legion Post 345 Ladies Auxiliary. She was of Catholic Faith. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler Fan.

    Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Phillip (Carole L.) Fish of Rockton, PA, Mrs. Phillip (Marlene A.) Fedeli of Bailey, CO and Mrs. Robert (Tammy L.) Gressler of DuBois, PA; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

    There will be no public visitation.

    A memorial service will be held on November 20 at 10:30 a.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Fr. Mark Mastrian and Pastor David Nagele co-officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.

    Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
