Edward and his brother Stephen were of the Connecticut Volunteers of "King Philip's War," who, Dec., 1675, surrounded the Indians in the "Swamp Fort" and to whom Connecticut granted as reward for their services, a township of Narragansett, now Voluntown, Conn.
