Anne BRINLEY [1] |
- Daughter of Thomas Brinley of Exon, England, Auditor General under Charles 1st, and 2d, her brother, Francis Brinley, came to Newport in 1652, at the age of twenty years, probably influenced by that connexion, and married Hannah Carr; he became a prominent and wealthy citizen and large land owner, and was the ancestor the Brinleys of Massachusetts and Rhode Island; another of his sisters married Nathaniel Sylvester, of Shelter Island, and left a progeny extensive and well knowns.
