- Excerpt from "Royalty for Commoners": King of Judah, 867-846
1 Chronicles 3:10
These are the descendants of Solomon:
Rehoboam, Abijah, Asa,
Jehoshaphat, Joram, Ahaziah,...
1 Kings 22:41-43
Meanwhile, over in Judah, Jehoshaphat the son of Asa had become king during the fourth year of the reign of King Ahab of Israel.
Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he ascended the throne, and he reigned in Jerusalem for twenty-five years. His mother was Azubah, the daughter of Shilhi. He did as his father Asa had done, obeying the Lord in all but on thing: he did not destroy the shrines on the hills, so the people sacrificed and burned incense there.
