    • Iona was born on May, 24, 1928, one of the four children of the late Almon Dudley Farrar and Stella (Smith) Farrar of Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Miss Farrar graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1946. February 28, 1947 she married Dale Noble Bare in Bellmont, Illinois. Iona and Dale were the loving parents of two children, three grandchildren. Iona spent much of her time working with her husband at the golf course and raising their children. During 1965, Dale and Iona moved their family to the Orlando, Florida area. There, Dale continued his work as a "golf professional" and she worked by his side for many years. In the 1970's Iona started working with J.C. Penney as a Retail Department Manager until she was able to retire.

      Iona died on December 8, 2000 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital. Her wishes were to be cremated.

      Her ashes are buried next to her parents in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel,Illinois
