    • Biography by Mike & Sandy Requet: Charles Kimball PaDelford was my great-grandfather. He wa the husband of Lena May Large and the father of 3 children, including my grandmother Edith Belle PaDelford. "Charley" as he was called, was a small man in stature and worked various jobs in his lifetime. Some include teamster, stove mounter at Excelsior Stove Co., general laaborer, coal and wood merchant, a window washing business, house painter, and in later years, he worked in a downtown hotel as an elevator operator. He lived in Quincy, IL his entire life. Charlie was an avid fisherman on the Mississippi River. Frequently he sold his "catch" for the day to commerical fish markets on the riverfront.
