- John E. Verbanic, 90, a Norwalk resident for 85 years, died Thursday in his home.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, the son of the late Yonaush Verbanic and Hermina Vadas, he was a retired hatter with the Hat Corp. of America, where he worked since he was 16. A member of Musician Union Local No. 52-626 for more than 44 years, Mr. Verbanic was a music instructor and band leader with the Texas Riders, a country western youth group. He is also a former member of the National Guard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, two daughters and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Richard Verbanic.
