- Jonathan was a Blacksmith. He grew to manhood in New Canaan, Ct., was one of the singers in the old Presbyterian Church at the time when in the Church Yard there was a whipping post and Stocks. he afterwards went to the "Nine Partners" in Dutchess Co., New York, and there m. Alice Allen, a Quakeress, who was b. on nantucket, mass. In 1808, they moved to Albany Co., New York, he lived most of his days at Waterloo. They had five children. [1]
