- Charles Somerset Knt., K.G., Lord Chamberlain of the Household of King Henry VII, distinguished himself at the sieges of Therouanne and Tournai in France in 1513, and for his services was created Earl of Worcester on 1 Feb 1513/4 As Lord Chamberlain he was largely responsible for the arrangements at the Field of Cloth and Gold in 1520. "Charles Somerset, erie of Worcestour, Lord Herbert of Gower and of Chepstoe, K.G." died testate aged about sixty-six on 15 Apr 1526, and was buried at St. George's Chapel. [1]
