- May 10, 1637, John Thurston, aged 36, and his wife Margaret, aged 32, were passengers for New England in the Mary Anne of Yarmouth, England. They brought two sons with them, and were received into the church in Dedham, Mass., she June 28, 1640, and he March 28, 1641. He became a freeman May 10, 164, and it is recorded that he attended a meeting in Dedham in November, 1644, to provide some means of education for the youth. He had a grant of land in Dedham, Feb. 16, 1643. His estate was part in Medfield, set off from Dedham in 1651. His family settled in the adjoining towns of Wrentham and Medfield except Joseph who supposed to have gone to Jamaica, Long Is.and.l [1]
