- Richard Wrottesley, Esq., of Wrottesley, co. Stafford, Sheriff of Staffordshire, son and heir of Walter Wrottesley Knt., by Jane, daughter and heiress of Hugh Barry, Esq, of Berkshire. He was born about 1457 (aged sixteen at his father's death), and seems to have been brought up until the age of twenty at the Priory of St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Coventry. They had nine sons and seven daughters (four sons died before the parents). [1]
