    • In the land transactions, he is called Caleb Eddy Junior, and also Caleb the second. he was a farmer and husbandman in Swansea near Kickemuit Bridge where he made his home until about 1752, when he moved to Scituate, Rhode Island. Between 1746 and 1752, deeds are found in Warren, Rhode Island since that part of Swansea was ceded to Rhode Island and became the town of Warren. In Warren is recorded Caleb's earmark for cattle, Apr. 1, 1747, "which is a slit in the top of the right ear and a crop on the left ear," and he was made freeman in Warren in 1747 and again in 1748 he took the Freeman's oath in Warren. In Scituate, Rhode Island is recorded on May 17 1753, "The earmark with which Caleb Eddy marks his creatures is a crop of the top of the left ear and a slit in the top of the right ear." [1]
