  	October 28, 1694, just before John Chaffe's twenty-first birthday, his father died and he, together with his mother and younger brother, was made an executor of the estate. According to the terms of his father's will he received a "heifor," one-half of his father's "tooles" and gun, and, on attaining the age of twenty-one, one-fourth part of his "Upland and Meadow ground in Swanzey." He and his mother drew lot number one hundred and twenty in a division of land in Rehoboth, June 16, 1697. (Rehoboth Records.)..... [1]
