    • Alfred Chaffee was baptized in the West Woodstock Congregational Church, February 24, 1771, and later in life joined the Methodist Church, of which his wife was also a member. he had blue eyes and was of medium height. He sold land in Grafton in 1814 and 1817, and had a large quarry of soapstone on his farm there, which he sold November 12, 1825. He was a farmer. [1]
