- He settled in Norwich, Conn., at the time of his marriage and remained there until 1734, when he removed to Windham, Conn., and remained there until 1740 or after, when he returned to Norwich.
The records of the town of Franklin, Conn., show that Caleb hammond united with the Congregational Church there, by profession, May 7, 1731. he lived at one time in the town of Scotland, Conn. "Caleb Hammond, of Newtown, County of Middlesex, Province of Massachusetts Bay," bought land in Lebanon, Conn., Feb. 1, 1723. (Lebanon Town records, Vol. 3, p. 438.) Caleb Hammond, then of Lebanon, bought more land there May 12, 1724. (Lebanon Town Records, Vol. 3, p. 539.) He bought more land there Jan. 6, 1729. (Ibit, Vol. 3, p. 559). He sold land there May 25, 1726. (Ibid, Vol. 4, p. 6) [1]
