  	Alvah Wayland Bourne was the son of Charles Chapman Bourn and Betsey Ann Howland Bourn. He married Emma C. Bardeen on Feb. 21, 1878 in Hamilton, Madison, New York. He graduated from Madison (Colgate) University in 1876 and was a pastor in Baptist Churches in Newark NJ, New York City, Gloversville NY and Auburn. Rev. Bourne received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 1898 from Colgate. ["The Barden-Bardeen Genealogy"] Alvah Wayland Bourn's name is inscribed on a Bourn Family monument in the Madison Street Cemetery of Hamilton, New York, but he's buried here in Fort Hill Cemetery in Auburn.
