- He moved from Little Compton to Westerly, Rhode Island, later to Scituate, Rhode Island, where he died in 1760. A deed dated 3 April 1747, whereby he sold land in Little Compton, showed him to have been in Scituate at that time.
In his will, dated at Scituate 14 July 1760: "...To wife Mary the use of one half of household goods, excepting my plate during her natural life. To son Job 5 shillings old tenor. To son Abner 5 shillings and my old gun. To son Jonathan the sum of 20 pounds. To son Samuel one half of all stock of creatures of all sorts. To daughter of Anne Rathbone 10 pounds. To granddaughter Priscilla Rathbone, daughter of the above said Anne Rathbone, one feather bed and furniture belonging to same. Rest and remainder of estate to three sons, Samuel, Stephen and John..." [1]
