      Mrs. Esther Hutchins of Pinecreek township, died at her home nearly two miles east of Brookville, last Sunday evening, June 20, 1897, of an abscess which had formed in her side. She was born in Orange county, New York, in November 1817, so that she was nearly 80 years of age. She was married to Parliament Hutchins in 1837, and soon after they settled near Brookville. her husband died several years ago. She is now survived by ten children, four sons and six daughters. For over 50 years she was a member of the Baptist church. her funeral took place on Tuesday, interment being at the Butler burying ground. The services were conducted by Rev. E.M. Lightfoot, pastor of the Brookvlle church. She was a sister to Moses Slawson of Warsaw.
