DEATHS
SLAUSON -- At University hospital, Syracuse, NY, Sunday, February 28, 1932, Fred Slauson, aged 80 years and one month. Surviving are his brother, James I. Slauson of Cold Spring, one nephew, Clarence W. Slauson; three nieces, Mrs. Howard Suits of Baldwinsvlle, Mrs. A.A. Rossiter and Miss Edith M. Slauson of Syracuse. Fred Slauson was born at Betts Corners, January 28, 1852, son of Stephen D. and Eliza Selleck Slauson. His parents removed to Cold Spring. He attended school at Cold Spring and Baldwinsville, and in his younger years conducted a school of telegraphy at Oberlin, Ohio, returning later to Cold Springs. He will be remembered as a musician of much ability and was a member of three bands organized at Baldwinsville, at different times and afterwards of the Rome City band. In 1895, he married Mrs. Emarcy Ames of Rome, NY, and was a resident of that city for over 30 years. Death followed an illness of seven weeks. Funeral was held at Rome on Wednesday, March 2, conducted by Rev. Mrs. Lella Williams of Syracuse. Bearers were Clarence W. Slauson, Howard A. Suits, A.A. Rossiter and John Tibbits, Fayette Pickard and Albert Kruom of Rome. Interment was made in the Rome Cemetery.
