    • Excerpt from "Descendants of George Rowles" by Ann Moloney Lamb:
      Obituary the Waupun Times, May 2, 1899 p.4, Col.3:
      "Rowells - AR Santa Rosa Infirmary, San Antonio, Texas, April 26, 1899, Dennis Rowells, of consumption, aged 32 years and 3 months. Mr. Rowells was born in the town of Chest (WI) Jan 29, 1867, and was well and favorably known in and around Waupun. He established himself at Escanaba, Michigan, in 1892 as a dentist and was enjoying a large and lucrative practice. In February he went to New Mexico and Texas hoping to regain his health, but even the change could not restore him.
      He was married Sept 2, 1893 to Miss Hartshorn of this city, who, with a child of four, survives him. The remains were brought to this city yesterday,and buried today from St. Joseph's church.
