- Excerpt from "One thousand Years of Hubbard History": He had a brother Isaac (possibly Samuel of Fairfield was a brother also). They came from Holland to New Amsterdam, thence to Connecticut before 1655, when Jacob and his father too the freeman's oath. After 1663 Jacob and family removed to Boston, where he was a leather merchant and constable. His will, probated Dec 26, 1706, names widow, Hannah, and children Samuel and Abigail (who married William Tilley).
