- Jeptha signed the Revolutionary Association Test at Mamakating Precient, June 25, 1775. He served as a Private in several Alarms in Col. James McClaghey's Ulster County regiment in the Companies of Capts. Abraham Cuddlback, John Newkirk, and Benjamin Vail. In company with his father-in-law David Godfrey, Sr., he was granted 200 acres of land in Mamakating. he and his family were members of the Old School Baptist Church in New Vernon. [1]
