  Notes	Widow Mary was the nurse who was attending Mrs. Thomas Duston and her infant when the Indians took them prisoners to Pennacook, March 15, 1697. On the 29 April following, Mrs. Duston, assisted by Mary and a boy Samuel Lennardson, whom they found a prisoner, killed ten of the twelve savages in their wigwam, and with their scalps and their captives' guns--- as trophies embarked on the waters of the Merrimac and reached their homes in safety.
