Mrs. G. F. Slason
Mrs. Slason, mother of our townsman, B. C. Slason, died at her home at Plainville early Sunday morning after suffering from a severe cold or an attack of influenza for a few days. She had been in poor health and quite feeble for some time. Her son F. E. Slason and his wife and made their home with her for about a year. She was an early settler on the flats, her husband, the late G. F. Slason, having taken a homestead a half mile from the townsite on the west, in February, 1878. He died in 1906, and during the whole period of 42 years she had made her home there.
The funeral services were conducted at the home on Monday afternoon by Rev. Carlton of the M. E. church, and the good mother was placed by the side of her life companion in the Plainville cemetery.
