Samuel graduated 1701 from Harvard College. He was a merchant of Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1719 and a proprietor of Barrington, New Hampshire in 1722. He commanded Fort Mary at Winter Harbor (near Saco, now Biddleford, Maine) from 1722-27. he sent his family to Boston in 1725 during the plundering by Indians in that part of New Hampshire. He joined them later (ca 1727). [1]
