Name:
From a young man up to the time of his marriage he was a driver for a packet line on the Erie Canal between Rochester and buffalo, long before railroads were hardly thought of.

When about six years of age his mother was murdered in Brockport, NY where they lived, and soon after his father showed signs of mental derangement. At one time he set out with a younger sister of Bradford's to visit an aunt a few miles away. The country was then a wilderness, and whether they were lost on the way and perished from hunger and exposure, or were devoured by wild beasts, was never known, as they were never heard from afterwards. They settled in Middleport, NY, where thee children were born, and in 1851 he removed to Tecumseh, Mich., where the other children were born. He finally removed to Albion, Mich., where his daughters had established themselves in the millinery business. Mr. jones was a soldier in the war of the rebellion in 1861-65; was in a Michigan regiment.

Bradford married Caroline RIX on 30 Dec 1845 in Holly, New York. Caroline (daughter of Guy Carlton RIX and Martha GATES) was born on 16 Dec 1826 in Littleton, Grafton Co., New Hampshire; died on 10 Apr 1896 in Albion, Michigan; was buried in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, Lenawee Co., Michigan.
